997 c4s new shocks fitted are shocking
Discussion
Whilst in for a breakdown repair I asked the garage to change the top mounts as i was aware they were on the way out.
Long story short they also then replaced both front shocks with parts straight from Porsche.
I have it back and the ride is as if there is no dampers (PASM) at all, and even minor bumps thud through the car. Additionally the car sits high, i can get a fist between the top of the tyre and the front wheel arch.....whats going on????
Garage says its not them & parts people are adamant that the parts are correct.

So an update for anyone interested. Using a non Porsche specialist this happened.
Top mounts misaligned,
New shocks incorrectly fitted and not pushed to their bump stop. This then caused damage to the fuel line as well as plastics.
Geometry not undertaken.
Various other bits and bobs not replaced
Vehicle is with Porsche and garage is paying them directly too rectify- which i guess makes me feel better.
Moral of the story. NEVER let anyone touch your car thats not a specialist.
Don't make the same mistake it did, as there is a good chance you will regret it.

I feel for you, but I very much doubt most people on here would make that mistake....Top mounts misaligned,
