What a farce !
After two months of trying to figure out what the position was on flight delays over 5 hours, I've finally got to the bottom of it :furious:
After having no joy with the airline, I got in contact with the AUC. Finnaly manged to speak to them today. What a rude bunch of useless ***** !
It all went down to how you read the following paragraph in the eu guides:
"when the delay is 5 hours or more, the airline must also offer to refund your ticket(with a free flight back to your initial point of depature) where relvant"
To me this reads, they should refund your ticket and offer you a flight to your initial point of depature. There way they are reading it is, that the refund is the free flight !
Surely this whole sentence is b******s ! If it's a refund, that would mean that I would have paid for the original flight with a "free flight" ?????
