Google Adwords targeting specific Industry
Discussion
It might be a stretch too far but I take the new that 'Google' knows a lot about their user base.
Say I want to target specific professions, for example, Architects or Yacht Designers. Obviously they aren't searching keywords, their clients are. I'm after the service provider not the end user. I'm sure Google knows or has a very good idea what most users are involved in work wise based on their search patterns. Any thoughts? TIA

Under Audiences, you can add by an interest type. If you chose Targeting rather than Observation, then browse you can then choose an "interest". In your example, I would thing yaghts are covered under Cars & Vehicles - Vehicles (other) - Boats & Watercraft.
Edit: actaully you can search too, under search (funnily enough) rather than browsing interests.

Thank you for your input. I couldn't imagine that helping, in fact it will just create a load of extra clicks. I think it's going to be a case of trial and error. Association keywords perhaps. Edit: actaully you can search too, under search (funnily enough) rather than browsing interests.

I wonder if some sort of remarketing type of approach might work
I don't know how off the top of my head but, for instance, remarketing can do this
"Customer list remarketing: With Customer match, you can upload lists of contact information that your customers have given you. When those people are signed into Google, you can show them ads across different Google products."

Possibly a linked in campaign using something like
SoPro would work better.
We used it to find people associated with a e-commerce platform and the £4500 3 month investment covered itself 10 times over and we still get enquiries.
If you want a no hassle / sell chat with a google ppc ninja let me know, there is a guy I rate in our building.

As said above, I've used linked in for b2b marketing and that worked reasonably well (though it does like to spend a decent budget and so it depends on the value to you of your average client).

They probably search their competitors work. I hadn't thought about LinkedIn. Whilst there is certainly an inefficient way to conduct PPC etc, even conducting it in an efficient manner is very costly. Thanks everyone for your input.
As I said we paid £1500 a month for 3 months and have had many times that back from our SoPro Linked In campaign, my analogy is that you wont catch fish without a big fat juicy maggot even with the best rod in the world. Happy to arrange a SoPro intro - they are quite easy to work with.Gassing Station | Business | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
