C63 amg estate - tell me why not

With several high milers out there for under 20k, what's the main disadvantage and issues with those?

Yes I'm aware i'll be doing single digit MPG and buying a lot of tires...

I saw a W204 Facelift estate the other day near Macclesfied - Looked and sounded fabulous. Even driven sedatley down a 30mph limit road it was rumbling along.

Head bolt issue on the older C63.
But as with any performance car check the history and how well they have been cared for. A lot have fallen into dubious ownership with dubious maintenance.
But ultimately it's a robust engine if looked after.

There was a beautiful one for sale here locally - 2013, 62K miles, dark blue, black leather, totally mint. Real Q car. It was on at £18995. If i'd been a little bit more flush i'd have invested.

Would be hard to resell i would have thought. Not too many want a C63, even less want one and need an estate. Would need to be bought as a keeper i guess.

I always took it to be the cars with the different headlight style, circa 2012?

I was always under the impression it was 2012 onward cars that had the head bolt issues ironed out.

I have been watching C63's on auto trader for about 5 years now! When my Cupra lease is up I think I'll be picking up a C63 estate as well. No kids, no dogs (yet) I just love the looks of the estates!!

I believe I read that even 2012+ cars can have head-bolt issues, but that the risk is less?!

I owned one for 3 years and averaged about 17 mpg during that time.

In so many ways it's the best car I've owned, but you will get sick of constantly watching the fuel gauge / stopping for fuel ie. the tank is way too small.

Owned a 2012 one there last year and it was a great car. Mine had the factory LSD and 18s and it drove quite nicely.

Only thing that grew very tiring were the creaks from the estate boot floor when going over country roads. Im sure it would have been easily fixed with some felt pads though.

Go for a facelift (2011 onwards) no head bolt issues, much nicer interior, I prefer the outside looks (personal preference ), only issue I had with mine is the 19” wheels cracking which is a common problem other than that was perfect.
I agree with above, you obviously don’t expect good MPG (although have seen 30 on a long run) but the tank is tiny so if you do decent mileage itl feel like your at the petrol station daily.

I have a 2009 CLK63 & have had no headbolt issue & the OH had a C63 again with no issues, I can't give you a reason not to buy one but plenty of reasons to get one, the engine note on start up alone will bring a smile to your face.

You don't need to go for a high miler to get a good one for 20k:
