Can anyone recommend a good BMW dealer for i8 servicing? Someone with an i8 and personal experience of the first three years servicing would be helpful. I'm not unduly bothered by location as I'm happy to drive to someone who knows what they are doing. Thanks

Have you spoken to your local main dealer? My understanding was an i service can be done by most dealers now, not like 4 or 5 years ago. The wife's i8 was done last summer by our local dealer. When I spoke with them they said it's just based on the 1500cc petrol engine service. They did try to charge for a door hinge service and to replace the gas struts though. Should have been an additional £175.00 as not included in the service pack. Done FOC in the end. I wouldn't get too precious about it really unless you have a def. issue with the motor, battery, drive train etc. Even then, BMW would prob. tell you to take it to your local dealer. Most of them have sold quite a few of these by now and are trained.

Thanks. My local dealer can do it I'm just not sure I have faith in them to do it. I'm in the West Midlands and each of the dealers within a 30 mile radius seem to have horror stories associated with them when it comes to servicing. They seem to be very good at selling but less good at service. I was hoping to get a response from someone who has had particularly good service on an i8. But maybe good service is a rare thing.

I honestly think BMW servicing is at the point now where it's down to who you get on the day, rather than the dealer. The same with the cars! I swear they just valet them, do the bare essentials to get them out the door and then fingers crossed. Not good when it's £70k+ on a used car. I only buy from them now to get the AUC warranty. The wife's previous car (M4CP) was a 6 mth old AUC with 2k on the clock. Rejected the car eventually due to major suspension issues they hadn't picked up on. The loud clunking was a giveaway I would have thought.
