Ceramic coated Exhause Headers

Has anyone had any experience of Ceramic Coating the exhaust headers to reduce radiant heat and general under bonnet temperatures?

I've had it done on the SEAC it worked great,went for the 3 stage coating,1 inside two outside.

Hi yes i have had my manifolds coated inside and out seems to have made quite a difference on average about 10 c

Cool...literally, thanks guys, I have found a ceramic coating company that can coat pipe for £35 per foot.

Also have found Ceramic Bolt supplier that I can use to thermally insulate cold water return pipes from the chassis thermal blead.

Hopefully should bring the temp down a bit, both the exhaust and the cooling system.

For the Speed 6 guys reading this, a coleague is going to use the same company to coat his Tamora 6 banger exhaust headers.

I'll write back once I've had it done, and obtained some results to post.

AFAIK everyone has used cam-u-coat in Warrington. There is another mob in Abingdon - but they will only coat externally.

Spend.... don't suppose you have the contact for cam-u-coat, so I can do some comparisons with the chaps I have found. Zircotec in Oxon. www.zircotec.com.

Zircotec only coated externally when I enquired, which is a waste of time - you really need the internal coating... All the criticism of coating retaining latent heat is really directed at the external only treatments, internal coating ensures that the heat goes out in the gas.
