Half price Merc from Oldham, seems legit....

Feel sorry for them, absolutely dreadful but you dont get any kind of 18 plate GLA for 9 grand, if it seems to good to be true and all that.

My grandparents were from Failsworth near Oldham, saw quite a bit of it and lot of it is a bit ropey.

Yes the £9000 price tag should have been enough to make people think twice. Not a pleasant experience to have to go through that!

Scumbags.

Seems an odd couple though, he is 48 and She barely looks out of her teens.

How on earth do you pronounce the name of the company that have copyrighted that photo lol.

Either that or the mail have just pulled the pic straight from facebook and used the filename as copyright. Muppets.

People who are so blinded by getting a great 'deal' who ignore the risks of a seller saying they will only take cash.

They're lucky they didn't get killed for it TBH.

A not dissimilar thing happened to me.

Brother won a car on EBay, I went to collect it with the cash.

There was no car just a Lithuanian gang.

Despite being powerfully built ( in fact the cops said BECAUSE I was powerfully built) I was attacked and left for dead.

Spent 3 days on life support, 4 weeks in intensive care. Fractured skull, lost an eye, jaw broken in 3 places, broken leg, ear torn off, multiple wounds over 40% of my bod.

It was recreated for crimewatch and in the Nationals.

But I live to tell the tale.

I wonder if there would be any way of claiming something back from eBay in a situation like this? In away they have helped in a robbery. OK they wouldn't have been able to know but I would at least expect them to do everything they can to help the authorities track the sods down.

I will say though like others have said if something looks to good to be true and all that.

Thankyou4calling's 'schtick' is to read a news article and cynically claim "This never happened". That post reads like he's getting in on the make believe story action biggrin

biggrin

They're partly to blame for these crimes in the first place. I'd rather set £20 on fire than donate it towards paying back the losses of those greedy idiots.

It happened 100%

Police thought it was modelled on a similar scam featured a couple of weeks previously on Eastenders.
