We need those guys around ours-spied two just last week about the same size a decent house cat. Looks like we've got a few rat holes in our's and the neighbours banks below the trees.

I'd rather this than throwing down poison.

Plenty of scientific evidence (and quite a lot of speculation!) that rats had very little to do with the spread of the plague

This is the best way to bring rat numbers down. A good terrier will be able to kill a rat in seconds. Poisons are a horrible slow death for a rat.

I obviously don't enjoy the idea of rats being killed but sometimes there is a need to control numbers and this has to be the most humane way possible. Plus good to see Norfolks in their true form!

it's bks. Maybe if the dog was 1 kilo, but that dog wouldnt have a chance against a rat. I never unerstnd why people exaggerate the size of rats, i guess it drives buiness.

There's no evidence of mass deaths of rats at the time, physical or documentary, which is odd. Mathematical models suggest the rat population can't have been big enough to support the rapid spread of the black death. It's way more likely the fleas were spread by humans and food (particularly grain) transportation. Thread divert off
