Clutch / Gearbox?

Hoping for some help here!
My gearchanges over the past few days have become "stiffer", with me having to "push" it into gear. The car is a 2001 4.5 with 9000 miles. With the car not started it goes into gear very easy, but as soon as it is started, it become hard to put in. It feels as though the clutch is not disengaging completely although I have checked around the peddle to make sure that there is no obstructions. Could it be that the cable is stretched or low in clutch fluid. I cannot get to see the clutch level. Any advice appreciated as I'm getting a bit nervous at the thought of a new gearbox!!

Sounds like the clutch/fly wheel to me. Have you spoken to a mechanic.

Not yet.
Its up at HHC on thurs but I'm a bit wary of driving it at the moment.

Does sound like the clutch not disengaging properly - get some specialist advice.
