Heater fan motor location?

Hi,

Since the winter lay-up my '94 Chimaera has taken to blowing the instrument panel fuse whenever the heater fan, (not the radiator fan), is turned on. I suspect that the motor may be jammed, but haven’t been able to locate it to check.

Can anyone help me out here, as without the sound of the motor to guide me I’m absolutely stumped? I suspect that it’s above the heater matrix in the passenger foot well, but don’t want to start pulling that apart only to find I’ve been on a wild goose chase.

On another subject. Has anyone experience of removing the dash to replace the veneer? Mine’s looking very second hand, but I’ve been told by one of the dealers that it’s a horrible job. Is this true, or were they just trying to get the business themselves?

Is the motor working at all? It might be short-circuit.

Just had my dash removed to get the speedo calibrated and it looked to be fairly easy, although two pairs of hands is advisable but should come off within 10 mins.

Passenger footwell/wing just to left of battery/fusebox.

Dash easy to remove - radio panel a little trickier.
