O2 / Tesco Mobile issues?

I’ve recently moved over to Tesco mobile SIM only using my old iPhone from my previous network provider Vodafone (unlocked).

All works great but the mobile data signal keeps giving me the “cannot activate mobile network” message as I travel about even though it shows 3 or 4 bars signal. Tried resetting the network settings but that didn’t work. Also tried a hard reboot.

Finally forced it to use 3G instead of 4G and now it works fine. So my question is, is there an ongoing problem with the O2 network or is it me? Been like it for a few days now.

Yes, it's been like that on and off since last Friday.

I'm finding the data on GiffGaff (also uses O2) particularly hit and miss at the moment. May or may not be connected to your issues.

I know it’s not my phone as it was fine all day yesterday back on 4G. It’s dropped out once this morning already, seems to be fixed if I make a phone call so I call voicemail. If it drops out of one cell, it needs a call to connect to the next one. Definitely a patchy performance and not impressed so far. Never had this with Vodafone
