Hi, I'm looking for some advice. I have a 2005 Toyota avensis manual 2.0 diesel 140000. For my daily commute (45 mins) the car drives fine without any issues. If I drive for more than an hour or so I start to get a judder as if it's about to stall when changing between 1st and 2nd or pulling off in first. It doesnt stall just shakes a bit and is then fine. Higher gears dont seem to do it. I also have a faint burning smell but only when the car has been driven for a while. Although its an old car I'm not against replacing the clutch but dont want to pay out for this if it's something else and as I say it's fine for shorter trips. I also get a squeaking noise when I press or release the clutch pedal but I'm told this is common for an old avensis. Any thoughts, is it as I suspect and time for a new clutch? Thanks

I had a Saab 93 over the same era with the same issue, turned out to be the dual mass flywheel.
