At the risk of starting yet another drop links debate...

I have had the open rose jointed style links for several years and they regularly collect dirt and wear out, so time to change to some booted ones more suitable for a road car. I have just changed all 4 drop links on my 98 Chimaera and can confirm that the following alternatives fitted with no issues at all. Just make sure you get the handed front ones the right way round.

Rear; Delphi TC1172 from a Ford Mondeo Estate
Front Left; Febi 24940 from a Honda Accord IV
Front Right; feb 24939 as above

Lots of sources out there, Autodoc, AceParts etc.

Mondeo estate ones on the rear of my car.

I splashed out on the Leven ones for the front. I did have the Honda ones fitted, probably a cheap set. One failed so I forked out on the more expensive alternative.

I tried the Mondeo Estate ones on my last Chimaera, but within a couple of months, the boots were splitting. frown The double ended articulation didn't seem to fit right. I did use the Honda Accord ones on the front and they worked very well.

I then used the car without a rear ARB fitted for several months. For the MoT, I tried a couple of Volvo S40 / Mitsubishi drop links on the rear, a ball joint at one end and a straight rod at the other, which worked well. Still OK when I sold the car several months later:
