Are you hoping for something similar to the December 2019 Vantage deals, Dieter ?

I think before doing that with the DB11, AML might first need to change from PLC to charity. smile

Well, yes, I was hoping I might get a cheaply priced Volante, I admit, particularly having read about all the Vantage deals. But AML put up the ad, I just clicked on it!

But in addition, I still can't figure out the maths. The APR is 7.9% which I don't regard as in any way competitive, while the Interest Charges are £12,992.63, and the Total Charge for Credit is £17,390.45. Maybe I'm simple, but aren't the Interest Charges and the Total Charge for Credit the same thing?

And if they have sorted out their supply/demand issues, great, I don't want them to go bust, I just think they are headed that way through their own management decisions.

The market decides what the value of these cars are.....they had a surplus before Christmas... cars weren't selling.....adjusted the deals available....and got rid of the cars.

Now small amount of surplus cars available......deals not so attractive pricewise........again same scenario will end up selling less

By the way, Aston Martin Edinburgh are back up and running as Grange, part of the other Grange AM outlets? Anyway, back in biz, great.

Not sure how AM can sell any new cars, as ex-demo Vantages, list £140k+, are sub-£90k with a couple thousand miles on them. Thats £50k-60k ‘loss’ in 6 months. Renting for 2 years for £24k was a no brainer...

I can see what you mean.

Model year 2019, Flugplatz Blue, 393 miles, = £88,995.

Gosh, how much per mile has that one cost ?
A chauffer driven limousine would have been cheaper.

That one does seem cheap, I wonder how the finance numbers work on a Timeless car, do you still get the first years tax and service plan. scratchchin
But there does seem to be a bit of North/South divide.....

Model year 2019, Flugplatz Blue, 2500 miles, = £101,990

£13k difference from Newcastle to Bristol

Is it this one you mean? As it's been reduced by another grand.

https://heycar.co.uk/vehicle/aston-martin-vantage-...

Their PCP example is just over a grand a month as well. Granted, it's probably an ex-demo but has only done 400 miles.

I reckon the grand a month PCP deal for the new cars will be back shortly....

Service plan goes with the car, it's not tied to the purchaser. RFL, that's on the buyers plate.

I'm disappointed I didn't know about the £1k / £1k until it was too late, that deal was just a no brainer for me, I'd have jumped in double quick. £24k all in for renting a spanking new Vantage for two years with no end of term exposure.....that's just silly.

Were you away from this forum during December, Ryan ?

Low cost, two year PCP was the main topic being discussed at the time.
It came to our attention, through posts by the new customers.
The options seem to be ignored, so some cars were probably £150,000 list.

£1,000 up front, then 23 x £1,000 with free servicing, and also a couple of grands initial road tax thrown in.
Can you believe it ?
We never got to the bottom of who will be taking the hit. Surely not the finance company, who became the owner of those cars, nor the dealer. Presumably it must be you know who.

We will find out in a while, just how many UK sales there were in Q4, but must be a record quarter with those prices.

The deal was only on physical stock cars though, no special orders.
They had simply made too many, the dealers were drowning in stock and they needed to move metal fast, it worked, will they learn anything from it, who knows, do they slow production or are they tied into producing more than they can sell at full list price, if so expect a similar deal when stock has built up again. scratchchin

Ah yes, I forgot the machine polish and ceramic coating. I guess Aston have learned from the past shocking examples of paint that passed final inspection with swirl and sanding marks 😁

Sadly I was pretty busy in early December before sodding off to Cape Town for a month, so didn't frequent the forum much............clearly to my own detriment it would seem.

I think based on todays news we're very unlikely to see those deals again, unless of course AML have started stock piling Vantages again, which I'm sure is not very likely.

I'm hoping to borrow one from Works for the weekend later in Feb, so we'll see what's what after that. It does however raise lots of questions about buying one at "normal" numbers. As others have now said, how does AML convince buyers it's a £140k+ car, when they've been trading at far below that recently (be it PCP, lease or whatever). If someone gets into a decent spec one at say £135-140, you know before you sign that it's going to be worth probably £80-85 trade in 24 months..........that's not good maths.

Also, I see from that Autocar article they mention a spring update to the Vantage.......anyone know anymore ?

The roadster is being launched and, as discussed before, the option of a slatted “traditional” grill is coming in.

I’ve not heard anything about mechanical changes though

As VW have Bentley and BMW Rolls Royce. I had hoped that Mercedes might buy them out.

But Daimler AG have problems of their own, not least a very weakened share price.

What l don’t want is for Aston to fail to proceed. 🤞
