I have been watching the 992 auto trader for sale market for 6 month now and the market looks real slowly ,the same cars hanging around for months . I am going to place an order with about £25,000 worth of options late summer but am just feeling a little cautious in case they start discounting . Maybe I am wrong and and the sell through rate is the same as it ever was its been twenty years since I last bought a Porsche and boy do I think the 992 is a great looking car.

Any thoughts?

Other than no sane person puts £25k of options on a 911 and discounts are virtually unheard of unless you are very lucky.

Of course there's the odd few options to make it your own but.. £25k's worth is an immediate big hit ref residuals.

There have been plenty of discounts around on new stock/pre-registered 992’s over the last few months.

Don’t know about ordered to spec though...maybe with that spec!

£25k spec is not that high if you add pts and PCCB !

Ferrari and macca can see £100k options.

I spent £24k on my 911 to just get the basics and with a free colour.

£10k is needed to get the Very basics with Porsche, and that’s with a free colours and steels.

Slightly different dropping £25k in a car that sells for overs to one that loses 20% the day it goes out the door.

If its car for life spec the hell out of it OP. If not specify sympathetically or buy a del miles already in stock car bidding them in the balls - Porsche dealers in UK have brand new cars in storage but you have to ring round as only dealers have access to stock lists. Option list on 992 a p take. £800 for headlining in alcantara. It was free before!

I looked at a used 992 S early december at OPC Colchester which is still there now with 4k lopped off the price. Full of options including PCCB and decent colour 6k miles.

If you are buying for the long term fine but these cars are hanging around so go in with a set price in mind.

As for buying new, Its a no from me.

£24k only got me what any normal cars has plus PCCB !! I did not spec any tat or extra leather or carbon sills etc.

Porsche rrp cars are low, its misleading imo as to get climate and reverse sensors all costs ££££££

if you are paying >£100k for a car you want the basics functions , other wise you are living with a car which would be annoying.

Disagree but then more of a user , than shower ....My RS was about 9k in options , and everyone thinks it is "well specced " , yes I like most Europeans prefer steel brakes which helps .

RS came with a few more free bits though inc free buckets.

My car really is quite basic in my eyes vs what people do or can spec.
I don't get the user vs shower thing ! I went free colour, cheaper buckets, no carbon sills, no led inside lighting, standard sun visors, standard stitching, it's pretty basic for a options list.

I would not forgo any option I have as it just match's my Golf and my Mini. In fact it's not quite as well speced as my Golf to be fair, that has radar cruise which is amazing for the ltd ave speed motorways.

for a USER it has the options you can enjoy as a user !!

I don't see how people can spec less if they want the basics bar not having PCCB's but that's still £14k options on mine if it had steels !

I thought a shower was an RS model ! :-p

The car would be a keeper, and as ever its about buying well and indulging my self not helping the
bottom line of the dealership.
Thanks for replies all are appreciated.

I’ve been watching 992 prices too and seem to be strangely firm, I assume due to still limited supply. Most cars seem to be 5-10k off list for 2-7k miles.

Not enough of a saving to buy used

I think if you walked into an OPC ready to buy a car at the end of the month you’d do much better...you definitely would have at the end of Dec.
