Not entirely sure I agree with that tbh. Define 'nicer'. Authenticity/provenance/pedigree doesn't really make a car any better either. Sure it's great for personal/historic value and all and there is obviously that in terms of the overall ownership experience but it doesn't really change the fundamentals of what using a car (ie driving it) gives you. The pricing is steep to put it mildly but again given the hours involved in making one of them, I actually don't think it's unreasonable. Sure there probably is the capability to make a car as good as a Singer here for less but do you want to have to manage every aspect of such a project as well? Much nicer and importantly truly authentic cars with real pedigree or provenance available for far less.
Personally I don't really care for Singer (to own that is, would love to drive one though!!) as I couldn't personally justify spending that amount on the cosmetic/aesthetic side of things but I do appreciate the amount of time/effort and all that has been put into them and don't think the jibes at singer with regards to pricing are entirely fair. And literally no one who has ever driven a singer ever seems to have anything but praise for the way they drive so it's not as if the driving side of things has not been ignored either is it....?

I like the Singer 911s but not at the money. If I had to choose, there's just too much other nice stuff at that level. If I drove one, however, I might change my mind.
Wasn't too impressed with the Petrolicious video. The car doesn't come across that well to me and doesn't even sound that nice - for a Singer.
For me this is a much better representation from Dickie Meaden. This one's only 1100kg too

There is value in them and not doubt of the craftsmanship and attention to detail. So the man hours and materials have to be paid for… but it is all for the aesthetics. The engineering of the driving aspect are primarily Porsche parts or top of the market aftermarket specialists that anyone could go to.
I’d love to drive one or have one in my garage. I’m just saying that I don’t think they are 300-500k worth of car.… but then your are paying branding and membership of the SVD club, and that the price of entry. Not sure that is the actual value.
I think the tuthill type cars more appealing by comparison than these, as they are about the pure drive, and not really restomodding or backdating imo. I also like the workshop 5001 machines.
BUT again the pricing of both of these can also be crazy because you are paying for a build - not a product. Also not saying that either of these for example have better provenance or are more authentic than an SVD car but just comparing them.
The cost of development/build is not equal to the price or value of the car/product. Setting these things as equal only works when you attach branding and scarcity/exclusivity to them and then it’s a self-fueling machine between branding, price and perceived exclusivity.

Nice old 911 but not 500k worth for my mind. Not that I have that to spend on a car.
I sometimes feel that Petrolicious should rebrand to Pretentious though.
