Griff central locking - where does the dash button connect?
Discussion
Is it good or bad when an electrical issue fixes itself?
The central locking on my 1994 Griff has been intermittent for a while and recently stopped working altogether (the alarm module otherwise working fine).
I needed to take the dash out anyway to remove the speedo, so have pulled the alarm module out too assuming it to be at fault, having had a similar issue 12 years ago which was fixed by a replacement alarm module. Mine is a Microscan AN400.
Having contacted the same alarm company that helped before they stopped supporting it 10 years ago... so I put it back in again and then found the central locking started working again after pressing the dash button a number of times.
However, when the locks were not working the dash button would still click the CDL relay, just with no door locking being the result. The Bertram Hill diagram....

...suggests the alarm will also feed the CDL relay so can it have been at fault in the first place?
Does anyone know where the dash button fits into the circuit; I assume it will send a pulse to the locking side of the relay in the same way as the alarm module? In which case can I assume my intermittent fault is between relay and door locks?
