E Bike - purchase abroad

MrsTheWife & I are in the market for Electric Mountain bikes. We have a motorhome trip to northern Germany in a couple of months and wondered if anyone has bought an E Bike from abroad before, as I seem to think it might well be cheaper than in the UK ?

Has anyone done similar?
