What's happening if anything with vehicle travel across on ferries and Chunnel next week. Green cards? International Drivers permit? Or just business as usual as we are in transition?
I may have to drive out to NL, BE and DE next Tuesday myself in the car....

BBC news have just pinged on my phone saying 'What will change on Friday?'. Apparently travel will be unaffected during the transition period, at least until the end of this year.

Some paperwork, same kind of paperwork they would get sorted in advance if they were then going on out of the EU and into non EU countries beyond. So nothing they wouldn't already know about or be suddenly stopped by.

Don't worry, you'll be able to collect it from a beach along the Kent coastline.

Nothing will change until Jan 1 2021 at the earliest depending on what new agreements are put in place during the transition period to end of 2020.

Business as usual until the end of the year. Then, who knows - we'll see what sort of deal Boris can deliver.

Well, they said that without it I am only 3rd party, with it full comp. But that sounds like pony as they stopped issuing green cards back in about 2007 or so as you were covered for (I think) 90 days automatically on your policy, just via the doc.

I asked if the charge was specific to Brexit happening tomorrow and she said "no".

I'll let you all know what happens, I'm out to France at around 16:00 and back around 01:30am. Meeting a mate for coffee in Belgium. I'm sure nothing will happen.

Nothing has changed, they have and still do automatically provide the minimum cover required by law in all EU countries. The green card extends that to the equivalent of UK third party fire and theft for 90 days. If you want like for like comprehensive cover they do that for free for a couple of days or you have to pay up to have that for longer.

Nowt to do with Brexit.

I spoke to my insurer (NFU) about a green card. Its printed on the reverse of my insurance certificate that I have had since renewal in August. Cost? Nil.

Just avoid the Thames. One cliff-edge forecast suggested there may be sightings of Godzilla in London.

Just be careful, some insurers only provide the legal minimum (3rd party ins) on the continental mainland.
