Ignition trigger head wanted dead or alive.
Discussion
To some it would seem bizarre that someone would have an unwanted/dead ignition trigger head laying about on the bench or tucked away in a drawer but it is the sort of thing I do so is worth the question.( I also fail to label the item so in later years I can't remember if it is any good or not) (perhaps I need a test rig).
I'm looking for both types... so the one which terminates at the blue 2 pin moulded connector poking through the side of the dizzy which the ignition amp then plugs into. Also the type where the wires come out the side of the dizzy and have the oval type connector on a bracket.
Reason I say dead is I just want the connectors. I'm building a test rig for the workshop so I can easily test all three elements of the ignition system..trigger, amp & coil.
Once I have a rig with all elements working simply by connecting to a battery and spinning a dizzy I can then substitute suspect items with the known good ones on the rig and prove the condition rather than just testing resistances etc.
For the most part a simple spin of the dizzy with your fingers will tell all but sticking an electric drill on it will find if things are breaking down at higher revs.
Thanks in advance
Steve
