Hi all,

Clearly seen lots of people talking about DMF problems with remapped E46 330D's and CD's, however having done some research and given that the base engine and 6 speed manual box gearbox are the same in the E90, has anyone ever tried seeing whether a later E90 DMF and potentially clutch will fit in the E46?

I'm just thinking that with the E90 producing circa 40 extra BHP as stock and significantly more torque, I would expect it to be a stronger design?

Has anyone tried this, or know of a reason it wouldn't fit, or couldn't be adapted?

E90 clutch and flywheel don’t fit. No probs with the E46 6 speed dmf until over 300hp/very much torque.

I have a 184ps clutch which was fine with 262hp and 607Nm torque. Dmf is not.

You can fit an early E60 530d clutch to a 6 speed if you want or an uprated Sachs one.

E90 box and engine are different.

Thanks Helix, it's the DMF that always seem to be the issue with the higher torque figures and although I've seen some say "just rev it", that rather misses the point of having massive low down torque and a manual box...

In my case, the car is a daily driver, so things like a single mass flywheel just isn't an option I want to take.

A new LUK flywheel is the best one available, the 204 one doesn’t come with bolts. They need buying separately.
