One for Eric Mc or others more qualified than I am!
I want to lease an EV through my limited company to take advantage of the 0% BIK, and have a deal lined up potentially but with March delivery. The dealership concerned is holding stock and won't postpone delivery until after April 5th.
If I did end up with an EV delivered in March would this give rise to a BIK charge effectively for the full year, or is it calculated pro-rata? If I did this, insured the car but ensured it wasn't driven anywhere until after April 5th, can the BIK be deferred entirely until its 0%?
You can see what I'm trying to avoid here, taking delivery of a car 2 weeks before the tax change and getting whacked with BIK for it.

It's pro rata, you wouldn't be charged for the whole tax year, just from the date it was made available.I want to lease an EV through my limited company to take advantage of the 0% BIK, and have a deal lined up potentially but with March delivery.
