‘16 GLE 250d AMG line premium or ‘67 Tiguan 2.0tdi SE Nav

Hi guys. First time posting so be gentle.
Just tossing up between the two above mentioned cars. I get they pretty different but I can’t make my mind up between any advice/previous experience would be appreciated.

Currently have A5 black edition but with a small child. We want something bigger. Safer. Boot space. Bigger family car basically.

Both will be pcp. Is the gle worth 110 quid more a month then the Tiguan.

Would be a day to day car for the mrs and little one

Very different cars - The GLE is much larger and more comfy, but comes with higher running costs which might not really be justified for a small family.

Tiguans are actually really lovely cars and would make a fine family bus, but not nearly as "premium" feeling as a GLE (or a GLC).

What is the %APR on the PCP?
New tiguans are cheap with discounts on PCP through carwow.

The problem with that it is it is very easy for strangers on the Internet to spend your money for you .

I have experience of both, and my honest advice with a "sensible" head on would be - Get the Tiguan.

From the sounds of it, you have one fairly young child? Something the size of a GLE would only really come into its own with more (and older) children from a practical stand point. That extra £100/m would be WAY better spent on clubs/toys/saving account for the little one, so unless you can consciously justify the Merc as something you REALLY want, it probably is not worth it, and that's before you get to other running costs.

Those GLEs are SUPER nice tho .

The GLE is the nicer car & if you don't mind paying the extra then it'd be the Mercedes everytime. Now for me if you want a nice SUV for sensible money then it'd be hard to look past this pair:

QX50 These have an interior that's on par with the Mercedes in terms of quality & a clear step ahead of the Tiguan & they come loaded with kit but not the greatest looker but once inside you'l appreciate the spec & 3.0d engine.

I've not got any experience of either but I can highly recommend the GLC350d. It isn't as big as the GLE, but it is nice and practical and the V6 3 litre diesel engine is nice and torquey and it offers effortless performance.

The GLC is a nice size I reckon and it isn't too big or too small. A very good(perhaps a little boring to drive) family car imo.
