I have an EE router which does not give sufficient wifi coverage of the house. I have bought a TP Link mesh system which is working well.
At the moment I have wifi turned off on the router and let the TP link handle all the requests. The TP Link is set as an access point and uses the EE router as the DNS server.
I would like to have the TP link to be the DNS Server. It brings in some useful features over and above the EE router, not least setting priority for my work stuff which will hopefully stop the kids tanking my calls when they are home from school.
I am struggling to work this through in my head, in particular how I need to set the settings on the EE router, which would presumably have to get its address from the TP link.... Hints and tips appreciated as always.

Without checking a manual (so based on the screen grab), there doesn't look to be an option to change the DNS servers issued by the EE router.
Assuming the TP-Link "base" can offer DHCP, I'd disable DHCP on the EE router and configure it on the TP-Link.
If the TP-Link base unit has a DHCP issued address from the EE router, you might want to change that a static IP before turning off DHCP on the EE router. Put it on something like 192.168.1.253 so you can find it easily.

IIRC you can use a BT/Openreach modem with EE broadband, might be worth a try, do some searching to confirm. Then let you TP link do all the routing.
You can pick them up for a few £ on eBay . eg.
