As the wedge is now Sorn for a while , after failing the mot .on brake issues I have decided to try and sort out the front suspension .which is very bouncy... I made a spring compressor and have stripped and painted the wishbones, all the bushes are in good order and have been replaced with poly- bushes... the shocks have no leaks and the adjusters all work, one thing I did notice when removing the wishbone was that the top ones especially were not pivoting on the bolts...the only movement was in the poly-bush, could they have been to tight or does this sound ok.
cheers

If it's bouncy check the shock top mount is nice and tight, looseness there can defeat the shock.

Other than that it's determined by the shock rate itself, if it has adjusters then increase them first.

Correct me if I'm wrong here... but the wishbone should be tight so the internal sleeve of the bush does not move. If bonded rubber bushes are fitted then the wishbone will always try and return to the same position. This is why the suspension should be tightened at normal road height. The movement of the rubber is part of the way the suspension is supposed to work. Some poly bushes are different and not bonded to the inner sleeve, I'm not sure how these would behave. Cheers Steve
