People carrier with best comfort/handling balance

The present family wagon is a large MB Viano with a 3.0CDI...its great for long motorway cruises, however after a recent trip up to the swiss alps the body lean lead to car sickness in the back. We will be visiting the mountains more now that the kids are bigger, so It got me thinking on what alternatives are available.
I am fully aware that handling and large body styles are sometimes mutually exclusive, however I have been in some large SUV’s that seem to defy physics.
We are obviously spoiled with the gigantic space and lugging capacity of the big van. We love the spaciousness inside, the fact that the co-driver can easily go to the back row, that we can just dump all our gear inside, and if needed grandma/grandpa and/or friends of the boys can ride along.
So, what options do we have? Suspension tuning? XXXL SUV?
The S-Max seems like a good product. Any other ideas?
