Why isn't this Trumpian go at media control being reported?
Discussion
All major media outlets walked out when some of them (BBC & ITV) refused entry, but not being reported by the BBC or ITV?

I would normal have a problem with stuff like this but with the way that much of the media have behaved in relation to Brexit i'm not surprised, especially ones that claim to be impartial like the BBC. They have done nothing but make the situation worse and encourage stupid politicians to carry on being idiots. Having them constantly criticizing the negotiations which is exactly what they will be doing wont help anyone well apart from their viewing figures.

Not exactly a good look.
And you expected better, from a PM, who willingly projects the persona of a bumbling idiot?

It'll all be alright though "the people" spoke once more and voted in the bumbling idiot.
"The people" are always right, apparently, so there's no need to worry!

I didn't have high hopes but we have him for five years. It'll all be alright though "the people" spoke once more and voted in the bumbling idiot.

"Better than expected" simply means he hasn't been the shambolic mess we saw in the election campaign.
s
t like this seems a backwards step but I don't know if there's a precedent for it with former Prime Ministers.Ridgemont said:
Guido has been pointing out that the selective briefing of the larger outfits has been standard practice across many governments.
Adding yourself into an invite list which you know is restricted looks like a stunt.
Which makes it all the odder that it's not being highlighted / promoted.........?Adding yourself into an invite list which you know is restricted looks like a stunt.
I mean that is the purpose of a stunt, to get attention?
Not disagreeing with your 1st point, just surprised more is not being made of it.

If you weren’t on the list you might be jumping up and down about it (for whatever reason) and if you were you might be less inclined to rock the boat.

If this isn't unusual, then there are serious questions about why Peston et al are kicking off about it

LBC have just been discussing it as well on the Iain Dale's show, good on them for walking out, we don't want any of that nonsense over here it was a briefing given by civil servants so they should have been allowed in.
There are 30,000 journalists in the UK... where would they all sit?JonChalk said:

There are a few inside reports on twitter from those that were there that make interesting reading including comments on who was briefing and what the past was like (previous briefings and set up). I am going to guess a few versions but there seems to be one from the press pool side.
Problem is this version of the Tory party have already done this, in smaller parts, and got lost in the bigger story among other manipulation and lies and spreading disinformation, it makes it harder to see their side of the story even if it is correct.
What was this then, a mis understanding or deliberate attempt or business as usual.
One version of events from one that was there.

Claiming that it's "sinister" and "Trump like" - yet sources very opposed to Brexit, the Conservatives and Johnson all invited. Very clearly, those invited covered every truly large media company.
Everyone else had two briefings. Here was a tighter, more detailed one.
What, exactly, is the problem?
Is it only providing access to those supportive of Johnson? No - the Guardian were there!
Is it preventing briefings of smaller media sources? Nope, briefings as usual.
Is it bad that briefings can be streamed live? Can't see why...
Is it bad that speeches are filmed on their own kit? Again, can't see why...
