Hotels in Pisa

Stayed in Pisa last year, its not a very exciting place. we founfd a hotel on Expedia, cheap but not very cheerful, cant remember the name of it. we only lasted 2 days there, then took of to florence and rome... much more life.
but if looking for hotels would definatly reccomend www.expedia.co.uk we have used them lots of times.

We stayed in La Pace a few weeks back. Which I think is about 60 quid a night.
Not the best 3 star I've stayed in for that kind of money, but not the worst either. Staff were friendly and it was clean.
Its just across the square from the railway station, which is handy for getting to Florence (approx 1hr) and the airport (which is less than 10mins).
Its only 20mins walk from the leaning tower.
If you're only going for a couple of days, then Pisa is fine as a base. Any longer I would recommend paying a little more and staying in Florence. As there is more to see and do. The highlights of Pisa can be seen in a day.

La Pace is the one i've found on the net. Looks fairly reasonable. The idea for this holiday is just to chill out, see some sights etc so it looks ideal.
Do yourself a favour - stay in Florence instead.
Pisa is a beautiful building surrounded with tat that reminds me of the slave market scenes in Gladiator. It's nice for a day out (and there's a great ice cream place down a small road near the tower itself that I can recommend), but other than that it's really not worth staying there.
Treat it as an afternoon out - Florence, on the other time, will easily occupy a week.

But, I pulled up behind a P reg Daewoo Nexia Glxi today (y'know, the old Astra but with a reshaped arse) and noticed its badge said "Twincam 16v"

Seconded. Pisa is worth an afternoon at most. Florence you can keep going back to and you'll alwyas find something new.
It's a much nicer place just to hang out and watch the world go by.
