HELP PS4 controller won't connect
Discussion
My son recently took his controller to a friends house and played there - now back home the same controller will not connect to his own PS4 (which it was previously connected to).
I've tried everything I can find on Google/You Tube - deleted device from the main menu, reset controller using pin socket at back, re-booted PS4 and unplugged it. Nothing works.
Have also tried various USB leads but makes no difference. Controller is flashing/charging - just won't connect.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried connecting it with the USB? Also tried wireless sync as per this article?

Yes I've downloaded the control App onto my phone and gone into main settings - but it cannot see any controller, so won't add via bluetooth or with the cable plugged in - it just cannot find the controller?https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-sync-ps4-controlle...

Turn on the PS4 via the button on the console, connect the USB charging cable and then press the PS button on the pad. Once you remove the cable, it should work with no issues.
This is exactly what I have done (many times), but it refuses to connect! When you plug it in via USB - are you saying still that the PS4 doesn't recognise it ( I think you are). Are you trying both ports and a good USB cable?
If you are not seeing any signs of life, it is either broken, or out of battery or something else happened to it.
Take it in to a local GAME and see if they can connect it to their PS4. Go back to the friends house and try to reconnect to their PS4 and see if it sees it.
More trouble shooting required.
Good luck.
The controller was plugged in via USB and was flashing/trying to connect but just wouldn't connect whatever I did.
Yesterday I borrowed another controller from a friend - plugged it in - nothing.
So I got another USB lead (the 4th one I have tried, even though all the others seem to be charging the other controller so I assume working) but this other controller then connected straight away. Plugged the original one in and this then also connected. So problem solved.
It would seem to be the lead(s) causing the issue, even though they seem to be charging the controller, they wouldn't connect it. Weird. Thanks for all the replies/help.

I had similar connecting my phone to a PC - one USB lead would charge it but Windows would not see it, swapped to another apparently identical lead and Windows can see the phone just fine.Yesterday I borrowed another controller from a friend - plugged it in - nothing.
