car now runs like a pig on sh..

apart from starting problem on my 4.2cerb 1997 car now runs like a bag of..
new coils, leads, lamdas, tune up, mil light still comes on and engine misses like a bad one.
all above bits replaced and ok for a while ie 20 miles if you are lucky, then problems restart.

I love the car but it has come to a point where I may buy an xk8R I dread the thought!!!!!!

I sincerely hope you didn't pay for two lamba sensors (expensive!) coil packs (expensive!) or leads (relatively expensive!) when you left the throttle pots which are the least reliable of the above and the cheapest (£35).

Anyway, take the car back to the dealer, or if you have no faith in them, take it to a real specialist. If the car is running so badly, should be a piece of piss to find the problem with the laptop.

Mine did this. Kept getting Brundles to 'fix' it. Ran OK for a few miles each time then played up again, as plugs oiled.
Took it to Offords - sorted - no problems - goes like a train

Doesn't a train accelerate gradually and only do about 125mph? I'd be very worried if my Cerbie went like a train

I am pleased to say that all the labour and parts they are fitting on to my car are free of charge.
They cannot be fairer than that.

Got the cerbera back today and they found that the problem was corroded terminal leads on the ECU. Had a tune up and car runs like a dream.... touch wood. Hopefully car is sorted now, and i'l look forward to givin it a clear out tomorrow. Not myself unfortunately!!
