Appeal for Help!

Just had the bloke from Chipsaway around and he cannot match up the paint on the car.

I have halcyon midas pearl which is a 2 pack with undercoat ICI colour. They only do Dupont and the clsest colour is Goaloifly Metalic. ALso they cannot handle 2 pack on their system

I can get the paint from a local supplier but no one but a bodyshop seems willing to touch Halcyon Midas, Have tried flyin colours.

Can anyone offer any advice? have you had that colour done by Chipsaway? If so, if you have the paperwork - my geezer can call him and see how it was done.

Use a Crayola yellow crayon for the small chips on the front, if you try to use the two pack it will look like it has chicken pox. The Crayola works quite well.

Are you saying use that as a stop gap until a repsray at a proper body?

My Griff is the same colour and prior to my buying it Adrian Blythe arranged for the front end to be resprayed. Even 3 years on I have yet to be able to spot which parts are original paint and which are new.

There's a link to his spray guy on the website and he may be able to hook you up with some paint or a local contact?

Wax crayon and some colour magic polish. It gets rid of the smaller chips no probs. Not as good as a respray, obviously, but a darn sight cheaper and pretty effective. Have an S, so used to lots of stone chips.

I had ChipsAway come and look at a couple of 'wounds' to my chameleon blue main bonnet. After about an hour mixing and applying and removing various mixes - he mixed everything by eye after deciding on a Ford blue as a base - he had to admit defeat and said "I think that's about as close as I'm going to get it".
A few weeks later, the service bonnet caught a stone and I decided to have a go myself. My son has a load of those Warhammer paints, small acrylics, so I mixed up an approximate colour and teased it into place.
Looks as good as the ChipsAway guy's attempt. So far it's survived a heap of weather and two wash and waxes and not fallen off.
Simply lessening the visual effect does reduce the anguish every time you look at it.

I had a chap from chips away look at my Gallofly yellow griff, he said that there was no such colour for TVR in this manual!!

would it be the same colour as gallofly Ferrari??

Isnt it called Giallo Fly or similar?
Maybe thats why they cant find it on their lists?

(why would anyone want a shade of yellow other than sunset pearl? )
