We seldom see GT3s or RS with over 10K for Gen2 or 20K for Gen1.

So against that backdrop it’s hard to know how the market sees cars up over 30K miles and beyond. I see there’s presently a 991:1 GT3RS with mid 30K miles for sale presently at £128K (or around £20K less than a sub 10 K car).

Interested in people’s views whether this is a realistic retail price and what the trade offer for such a car would be? Sensible purchase point for a car to buy and use?

I am of the belief with GT cars that with high mileage cars once you are at a reasonable discount there will always be someone that will buy a high mileage car as its the only way they can afford a GT 3 or RS

This thread may help you about a mega miles 997 GT3 which sold for what I think was a really small discount for a 150k mile car

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

The summary is (lifted from a post in that thread)

£54,995 for a 2007(57) Black Clubsport with 141,418 miles.

Or

£80,000 for 2007 Comfort with 30k miles

If you could buy a hugh mileage 991 GT3 RS for a decent discount I think you could put a lot of miles on it and not lose too much money as long as its serviced properly etc

That’s incredibly cheap motoring I think.

Provided it had been serviced correctly, and priced right I would have no problem in buying a high miles 991GT3 or RS, my 991.RS did over 14k miles in over 40 track events. It ran perfect. The only thing to take into consideration is that after I seem to recall its at10k miles? the centre locks and Axles need replacing, there were quite expensive items, so would check that these have been done on high miles cars. Don't know if this applies to GT3s though.

^This, very much so.

Aside from basic aspiration and affordability, there are also those who have a 'project' they want to do, which really does not make sense with a newer, more pristine example.

Applies to all centrelock cars but primarily driven by track miles. Hard to say what road mileage would require that and if it hasn't already been done by a conscientious owner, tbh I think one would not easily get an opc to do it pre purchase.

Interesting question. I would have thought it surely depends on the type of mileage. A low mileage car could have been used extensively on track, a high mileage car could have spent many miles on an autoroute driving to the Alps.

My GT3 had 8000 miles when I bought it in November, it is a February ‘18 car and the tyres manufactured in November ‘17. I therefore think they are the original tyres, and still have 4.5-5 mm all round, I therefore think as it’s a comfort the later applies!

And yes, I know I should have gone for a CS.
