Morning gents,

so what are we getting on a run then? I have a circa 300 mile commute to an overseas property that I often do at night and would prefer to brim it and not stop for fuel but it is alway a balancing act between driving economically and seeing how quick I can get there..!!

Is there any option for a long range fuel tank?

In the market for a high spec Gen2S manual if anyone wants to move on

You should get 27/28 on a motorway providing you don't cane it

Is PDK a complete deal breaker? Otherwise I have 997.2 C2S that I may let go to a good home. 12800 miles, full Porsche history, huge specification, owned by me from new in 2010 and never been out on a wet road in its life. Sensible price too.

High 20s on the motorways across France, possibly even 28-30 mpg if you stay at the speed limit. Once your in the Alps where its all 6000 rpm and second gear you won't have the time, mental capacity or inclination to bother with mpg.

Not sure why you want to think about a bigger tank. We regularly drive to Corsica, normally crossing most of France in a day. Stopping for lunch and a pee breaks up the journey nicely and fill up when we do. Even if I could drive forever, Id still like to stop at least once every 3-4 hrs.

Easy 29mpg in France and Germany, 997.2 c2s pdk. Driving with some spirit! As said above, a 3 hourly coffee plus splash and dash (er fuel) works for me.

Regular tank is 64 litres, just over 14 gallons. Low fuel light comes on when 10 (>2 gallons) are left, so a little less than 12 gallons before that happens.

So at 25 to the gallon, 300 miles is easy. My experience with a 996, not quite the same I know, is that when really hot and at sensible speeds it seemed to run on fumes.

There was a 90 litre option but has anyone seen one on a regular car?

I average 300 miles in general usage which tends to be pretty hard if I'm honest, but on several long UK trips I've managed 400. That's with hovering at c78-ish on cruise.

I’ve done 90,000 miles in my manual C2S, (it’ll be on 140k tomorrow) and mine does a maximum of 320 miles with mostly motorway and a 6-7k couple of revs over a 20-30 mile non-motorway stretch per day.

ETA - mine’s a Gen 1 car, so a Gen 2 with DFI should be a fair chunk better, one would assume.
