Wondering how secure Android "Oreo'' is with password protection.

Who (bar the owner) can open such a phones contents without the password?

Android developer / expert?
Po-LICE?

Wondering if a downgrade to 'dumbphone' is necessary.

Can you start with what your concern is and what you would actually like to do... might be able to help that way!

Android is not secure at all, your apps can leak your personal information. If you've got anything secret use an iPhone, a 6 digit PIN and don't use iCloud then at least it's only generally anti-terror and anybody with a court order who will see your secrets and usually, you'll know about it.

Court orders are granted on a whim and terrorism's a meme. Knowing if my device containing private digital information's been searched is a moot point at that point. Not into Apple products.

Sounds like you need to buy a new roll of tinfoil (catering size) and to cancel your broadband....
