My eldest is a talented artist - she particularly likes working with acrylics and pens, rather than on PC etc. She is taking her GCSE exams this year and then is planning to take the UAL extended diploma in creative arts at college. She wants to be an illustrator

She is particularly interested in getting a placement as a studio assistant but the only formal scheme, at the MAC, is oversubscribed unfortunately.

I will be approaching other places as and when I find them. However I wondered if anyone else could offer any suggestions please?

She has Aspergers so I am happy to do a bit of the legwork here, in case anyone wonders why she hasn’t got this all sorted by herself. She did a cracking application to the MAC supported by such a gushing reference from the head of art that it actually brought a tear to my eye. Unfortunately she was rejected in the first papersift.
