Please be gentle with me as it's my first Newbie post.

I have had a 2000 Tuscan for 2 weeks. No major problems to date!

I have 2 minor problems. The first is that the off side indicators have started to flash rapidly. They worked fine until this morning. I've read the handbook which says that it indicates a faulty bulb, but the bulbs on the front, side and rear are all flashing, just quickly. Is this common? Do I need to replace the bulbs? When I test drove the car it was doing the same. I was told a new bulb would be fitted and when I collected the car it was fine.

The second problem is that the drivers window appears to be sticking when closing, slowing down to a painful crawl. Does it need lubricating and if so, what do I apply and where.

Any advice will be gratefully received.

Other than the above minor niggles the car is fantastic and I look forward to driving it each day.

If the bulb is OK, then I am pretty certain you should check out the connector in the wire heading the lamp unit. Mine had the same problem some years ago solved (IIRC) by wrapping a little piece of insulation tape around the connector to secure it when 'making progress', no bother again with it since.

Window, I am not so sure but I would take a look at the mechanism inside the door and carefully lubricate it. (Do a search on here to find out how to take door card off). If the window is reaching the correct resting place and otherwise behaving normally, your encoder (in the door) should also be OK.

May even be that the window has always been like this and that it is just a tight fit when sliding in between all the rubber trim gubbins as it gets towards the top.

Welcome!

The indicators will flash faster if certain fuses blow - even if they're not related to the indicators. Probably worth checking them all. Anything else not working ?

Cheers,

Andy.

I can't see that any fuses have gone. Everything seems to work normally. I have noticed that if only the ignition is on, the indicators work at normal speed, but soon as I fire the engine up, the quick flashing starts. Also from behind when setting the alarm, the rear LED on the quick flashing side does not appear to be as bright as the "good side" although it could be my imagination. If the rear LED is failing, I gather you have to get a complete unit from a dealer, any idea of likely cost?

This sounds like exactly what happened to me when one of my speedo sensors started to fail. Then blew the fuse.

Cheers,

Andy.
