Chaps, I’ve been offered a ‘68 Bonnie, imported from the USA, lovely condition but resprayed in the past in a metallic red.. badges missing off the tank, not sure there’s much history but has matching numbers.... clock has 22k on it.. I’ve wanted a pre oil in frame bonnie for a number of years, but I’m struggling to know what to offer on it... any suggestions muchly appreciated.. thanks in advance..

The 1968/9 Bonnevilles are considered by purists to be the best of the lot, the last ones with twin leading shoe front brakes.
Impossible to give a valuation without seeing it,, but totally mint ones are fetching around £12k.
I had a 1969 USA 650cc TR6 Trophy (Same bike but single carb and upswept pipes) in 1971.
If it's a dog it's probably still worth £5k if all complete.
Try and get hold of a copy of "A bike is born" with Mark Evans...…..he restores one.

You could do worse that trawling through the h and h auctions web site https://online.handh.co.uk/?status=5&page=1&am... and search for results on previous motorcycle auctions. These are the prices folks are actually paying.
