How soddin' much for the Caterham!!! have they checked BaTs prices??

Anyway hope they've made an error with the 'ring dates, coz although thats a v good price for open pit closed trackdat @ 'ring- I'm there there for a trip inc that public wk end so I do hope its not been booked as a track day....

Having just had the pleasure of spanking an R300 round Bedford this has got me seriously thinking - could be a good idea. In fairness the tracktime available is guaranteed 30mins per hour vs 20mins per hour for BaT, so essentially 50% more.
With EVERYTHING included in the cost one trackday could equate to 3.5 solid hours tracktime, split the cost between 2 and £325 to have a guaranteed (almost) 2 hours actually seems like reasonable value.....

Fairly certain they will be using the 'Ring on a PUBLIC day & they are just putting together an "organised package" to take in a public day, rather than taking over 'Ring for a CLOSED track-day.

After the Wheeltorque debacle, the 'Ring management are quite anti UK track day organisers, hence the reason why only RMA have so far secured EXCLUSIVE closed days there. Other UK TDOs have been to the 'Ring but on shared days with other clubs & late in the year (November etc).

RMA have worked hard to gradually get better dates in the year & they run VERY strict disciplines. Indeed part of RMA's submissions/negotiations with the management was that they are predominently a members' club with annual subscriptions. As such Graham Clarke knows nearly all his members personally & their driving standards. As has been mentioned on PH many occasions, he doesn't suffer fools gladly (thankfully) & as such the track disciplines & standards on RMA days are amongst the highest seen on any track day. An exception was perhaps a somewhat disastrous day earlier in the year at Donington, when he marketed the day more broadly to non members & attracted an "undesirable" element who spoilt the day for everyone else (lack of track etiquette, multiple offs, multiple red flags/closures etc). All those responsible were effectively banned from future RMA events.

As I've said, the available dates they are negotiating are gradually getting better with a excellent closed day ran in late May.

However there's NO WAY that the 'Ring management are going to release dates in July to ANY UK track day club for exclusive closed sessions, at this moment in time.

So if you book this trip, it must surely be on a public day or a shared day with other local TDOs. Totally different to a fully marshalled, with medics, exclusive closed day, RMA style.
