One for the Liquidators
Discussion
Does anyone have a sensible view on this scenario....
Property sales company goes into liquidation and ceases trading. It has a 50% share in an associated lettings business.
None of the lettings contracts with Landlords contain a clause allowing the business to be transferred to another.
Files transferred to another lettings agent to protect GDPR issues and provide ongoing temporary assistance to Landlords and Tenants. Some of those Landlords wish to choose a new agent (not necessarily the 'file holder') or do their own thing. Some will stay with the 'file holder' on new contracts.
Does the Liquidator have a claim on any value relating to these files or are they gone into the ether? Not a big managed portfolio, maybe less than 30 total before the business folded.
Thanks in advance!
