Thanks to everyone who gave me some input a couple of weeks ago. I've found my car!! Although very tempted by a 993, the cost of insurance was deeply prohibitive...ie 3k+! I've settled on a 50th anniversary boxster s which a local bmw dealer is selling. It's in mint condition only 5000miles on the clock. The mrs likes the "chocolate" interior and I love the outside and the drive! So all happy I guess.

All I can say is it's going to be a VERY VERY long week :bounce:

Another question for you guys though...

Can anyone recommend any good track/ performance car driving schools? I'm looking for ones that last a few days in a row. Any input much appreciated.

Thanks. Will post some pics of the new beast soon.

All the best,

Aki

Silverstone Motorsport have a 5-day race course, so you gets lots of tuition and a race. Not seen any road car courses which last for a few days in a row, except for www.markhales.com which is 2 days in France. Again, this is race orientated, but uses road cars.

If you're looking for instruction on how to drive the Boxster you might try Simon Mason (www.simonmason.com) who is not only an instructor at Silverstone but also did the press launch of the Boxster, and does lots of work for other car manufacturers, including Aston Martin.

Usual malarky, not affiliated... yadda yadda yadda

Looks as though his site has just been updated - you must have been trying to view while it was down. However, it's now up and running - www.simonmason.com
He even has a small reference to me on the 'news' page of his site!

The DVLA advert is nicked from www.sniffpetrol.com, they do LOTS of piss-takes on BMW's!!!
