Hi folks and the "hive mind" of Pistonheads!

Thought this might belong here in this Food forum, but not too sure...

... I'm on the search for "Drive Thrus" ... in particular non chain ones or ones with interesting architecture or maybe near an automotive location ?

Not asking in terms of top food... not fussed about that... preferably in the SE England / London or nearby ?

Any interesting ones about ?

I'd also take suggestions of any chains ones in interesting locations!

Wasn't there an interesting place just off the M1, i believe its a listed building. I could be wrong but from what i recall its a nice piece of 50's/60's Architecture

You may be thinking of what used to be a Little Chef on the A1 at Markham Moor. It wouldn't fit the OP's brief as it was part of a chain and wasn't a drive thru.

Alderley Edge 'flying saucer' garage... misses the brief a little as it's not a drive through (though it is a drive around hehe)

It's funny it should be mentioned as I passed it just the other day and noted it's been spruced up and there is someone trading from there, It's not Little Chef as it was sold off last year, problem is I can't remember who scratchchin

Delicatessen Now, went past a couple of weeks ago.
Called AlDeli.

Don't know any non-chain drive thru's at all and I travel around a bit.

I passed this place a couple of times while taking my bike out to North Wales. Never actually tried it as drive throughs are tricky on a motorbike.

I drove past on Saturday, it's now a Starbucks (I think drive-thru as well as sit-in).

The Ace cafe on the North Circular road is worth a shout. Not a drive thru as such but definitely a drive to.

If you are into cars, food and music it’s something of a Mecca.

Isn't that owned by Soho House though, as in the international chain of private members clubs?

Neither have I but I was just assuming the food they throw out of the wall is the same as the rubbish they serve indoors

went t'other day and thought it wasn't bad TBH - chicken was nice and moist and the ribs were just right. Neither overly flavoured, enjoyed it.
