Identify our caterpillar!

My wife has just found this walking across the kitchen floor

About an inch long and very furry. We’ve no idea where it came from. Seems a bit early for caterpillar season??

I understand that some of the hairy ones can be toxic, so probably best to wear gloves when handling it until you know what it is.
