My car is about to have some paintwork done - the entire front end, plus some other bits. When I bought the car 6 months ago it was absolutely immaculate - but in that time, it's picked up a few stone chips at the front.

The paintwork is costing me nothing - but since the car will now be immaculate again, I think I'd like to protect it from more stone chips. Any recommendations for PPF in the Surrey / M3 J4 area? Obviously I'm happy to travel a bit - it needs to be a top class job.

We can sort it easy. However we are in Knightsbridge London if you don't mind coming into London.

Not used them myself but read good things about GemClean, just south of J11 off the M4:

I think Autocurators are in your neck of the woods.

Cheers,

Knightsbridge would probably be OK - although I'd prefer recommendations from customers rather than the business itself wink

I'm still unsure whether I want PPF and if so, how much of the car to do. The paintwork has now turned into a respray of the entire car, because it's been very difficult to match the paint - so it really should be perfect when it comes back.
I don't actually like PPF that much - I've seen a few cars with it now, and I think it introduces some orange peel, reduces shine a bit and means you can see edges on some panels (e.g. the top of the doors). However - my car seems to suffer quite badly when it gets chips - it had a few on the bonnet in my 6 months of ownership and they were very visible because the paint seems to go dark in a circle around the chip - about 3mm across - which looks awful.

Is it really true that PPF lets UV through? I'm thinking of restricting the PPF to just the front of the car, or maybe the "track pack" - i.e. front and lower panels - but I'm concerned that the paint will fade at different rates and I'll end up with a mismatched panels.

My gut feeling is that I should ignore PPF and just get a ceramic coat - but I know I'll curse when I get my first bonnet stone chip.......

I did get a quote from them, but they just didn't convince me for some reason.
