Due to me changing jobs and having quite a short commute I only do around 3000 miles a year. So I’m looking for advice on an electric or hybrid car.

Ideally I would have a budget of £12k as I’m only carrying some hand tools and a few power tools. Work will provide me with a van, but they said it will be years away when they renew their fleet.

One thing I would like is Apple Car play, but I could use my phone if it’s not available.

If anyone has any recommendations that would be much appreciated.

3k miles a year, including a short commute? Full electric. Nissan Leaf, even a 24kwh (like wot I got). You'll get a smashing one for £12k.

Unless your commute is more than 40 miles each way, which it can't be. Unless you NEED to do occasional 100-200 mile+ journeys and have no other long range vehicle, in which case Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.

12k will get you a 66 30kw leaf which would do your mileage easily

they have been appreciating recently so with no road tax, no servicing and and 1p a mile fuel costs on a EV home charging tariff it should be pretty much free driving

17 plate 30kw, top spec with leather, 17k miles, unlikely to not take a bid close to 12k

The Leaf doesn’t look too bad. I will check those out. The Mitsubishi looks good, although it maybe too big. I’ve seen an A3 and a BMW one but again I don’t know what they are like.
