How to install the vents?

Can anyone tell me how to install the small round helicopter vents in the side windows? I looked through the build manual CD and I cant find anything. Also, Should they open to the front of the car or the rear?

Do a search and there is at least one good thread from a year or so ago about cutting the hole. Basically you need a hole saw around 82-83mm dia IIRC.

Once fitted the vents should rotate, so can be faced backwards or forwards as necessary.

It helps if you drop them in boiling water prior to fitting, makes them more pliable.

Be careful with the 83mm hole cutters. I used one of these and the vents ended up being a bit loose

I got the factory to cut them in the end (new set of side windows!!).

I don't like hole cutters they tend to grab just at the wrong moment and even more so when going through a curved surface.
I chain drilled the first one and used a dremel to cut the bridges between the holes. The dremel cut so well I did the second just with that.
I then used a drum sander in the electric drill to finish it to size.
I also warmed the vents before fitting them but you still think it's going to shatter. Once you accept that they are only a few quid and go for it they almost fall in leaving you wondering what all the fuss was about.
