Some NOB is sending out an E mail from the following address [e-mail] which is riddled with virus's beware all

That's one of my Email addresses. I'll delete that account now and do a full scan.
I have Norton Internet Security, but it's obviously missed something.

I apologise if it's caused anyone any grief but this is honestly the first I've heard about it.

I'm a bit offended at being called a NOB too!!

To be fair, it's probably not even coming from your PC. Most viruses these days spoof addresses to make them look like coming from one account when in fact they are from somewhere completely different.

I get a lot of warnings from mail servers saying that PH has sent a virus even though some of the addresses don't exist.

I am therefore a NOB

I just spoke to a mate who owns a PC repair shop and he's told me the same.

My address could have just been picked completely at random or more than likely from someone elses mailing list or address book. When the virus infected mail is sent out my address was added to the from field.

Running a complete scan of my system now to make sure I don't have any nasties anyway.

At least it's not my doing.

i've just had a good scam sent to me via ebay, i've been bidding on an Aga cooker but lost out to another bidder. Then a week later i got an email from the so called seller saying the last bidder has dropped out and would i like to still buy the cooker, so to my delight i said yes.BUT then i get an email asking for my address and user name etc. So i clicked on the link from their email. They have only gone and replicated the ebay page but put there own email in etc, even the item number had been changed. So all just be carefull !!!

Get rid of that Norton thingmajig and install a proper virus protection system for a start. Try Avast anti virus, It's totally free, updates daily, and is brilliant.

Sorry budaholic, nothing personal, promise, this virus carrying E mail address has really balls up my address book and I have been sent at least 15 messgaes from this address in the last 4 day's, it seems that a virus intergrates a PC and sends messages from the PC assuming its E mail address and it therefore appears to be coming from that address, but is not the case in this instance, so your PC may well have been affected.
