Range rover gear box repair

Please can anyone help my 2004 range rover has gearbox issues it won't go past 3rd gear lovely up to there won't shift up to 4th or 5th been told a recon box but can't afford that it's had all oils done gearbox flush sump gasket replaced been on computer cleared all error codes test drove it went through gears lovely then 2nd test drive would not go past 3rd again went into trans safe mode can anybody help engine is good and smart bus just frustrated by this issue cheers if anybody knows a cheap gearbox repair engineer would be great
