Theresa Villiers visited our local floods yesterday and put in the most lacklustre performance I have ever seen. She must have known she was going. (Or she's that bad all the time and that's why she's gone)!

Julian Smith was quite well regarded in Northern Ireland so it seems a shame he has got the chop, going to be interesting to see who gets that job given the success of Sinn Fein in the Irish elections and the challenges ahead.

Doubt it.

I'd say he and the No. 10 cat are safe in their respective roles.

Was told to sack his advisors.

At least a couple there with balls to resign rather than concede to Glorious Leader and his puppetmaster. After a stunning GE result BoJo is doing a cracking job of undoing why he was elected rather than Corbyn.

Looks like a control issue: the treasury was going to lose ownership of some spending briefs.

Wouldn’t sack his advisers apparently. Boris’s administration looking a bit shambolic at the moment.

I agree. I think it is a mistake from Javid and very unfortunate, because I genuinely rated the guy.

Although I still think he made a better Home Secretary than we've had for ages.

Apparently there is going to be a joint operation of special advisers for No 10 and the Treasury. Wonder who is going to head that up......
