Hope someone can point me in the right direction as not getting a clear answer from insurers

Trying to sort out insurance for a family member who has just had a drink drive ban.

The ban was cut short by 5 months after a request was made for early return of licence - when family member is filling out quote forms does she need to state the length of the original ban or what she actually served?

Second question is that she was involved in an accident (no other car involved) at the time when she was drink driving and did not make a claim on her insurance as it would obviously have been refused anyway - does she need to declare this when asked about claims?

She wants to make sure she is doing everything legally correctly but obviously does not want to get clobbered anymore than she already knows she is going to be

Please no criticism of her conviction - it disgusted me so preaching to the converted :-)

You disclose the actual ban served.

It's not necessarily true that the insurance would not have dealt with an accident occurring whilst drunk. Some insurers have this exclusion, but many do not.

Yes, she needs to declare the accident, but as a non fault (in insurance terms) as no claim made and her no claims bonus was unaffected.
