Anyone fitted an Alpine Halo head unit to their car?

I’d love to have a modern head unit, but I think the screen on this would foul the window buttons...

Looking at that it's a 2 din slide out display? I think it can't get vertical because of the Dash, so ends up at about 20 degrees slanting downwards which makes it difficult to use?

Looks a nice unit.

Some of the pictures are a little deceptive, but it’s definitely a single din. You’re right that the dash overhang could also be an issue.

Maybe I’ll have to brush up my Blue Peter skills and create a cardboard mock up to test fit! 🤪

Yeah sorry single din unit but with a two din size slide out display (or in this case 9 inch). Dash overhang will be the issue stopping the screen getting vertical.

Hi...
I fitted a pumpkin android flip out screen to my Cerbera...the dashboard stops it opening so I had to buy a spacer to bring the stereo forward...it worked fine but looked ugly when the screen was retracted so I took it back out...you also have to rely on Wi-Fi to use an Android device...CDs seemed far more simple...keep it old school...lol

I found this thread showing the problem, but this doesn't look too bad?

So maybe speak to a car hifi fitter to see what is available, what works best. It would be nice to have a proper size screen for navigation in there.

Or maybe something like a 1Din stereo unit with maybe an external screen that can be mounted below in the center? Or maybe make a 2 din holder that fits in the center below the stereo holder. I've seen a couple of cars with a center speaker there.

Thanks for the thoughts, much appreciated - I shall keep exploring.

I'm definitely going to check out the Halo with a fitter too, as the screen is able to be adjusted up or down relative to the Din space, and also angled. I reckon it might be possible to place the screen dropping down from the head unit, and so avoid the overhang issue. That might obscure the cubby beneath a little, but better that than a screen you can't see!

A simple solution would be to install it upside down. However this depends if the screen can be flipped in the settings.
